Here, you'll find the top bargains at each position on DraftKings that will let you splurge elsewhere. And remember, scoring is IMPORTANT. Here are Fanduel’s and DraftKings’ scoring systems.
Quarterbacks
Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers ($6,600/$5,400): It has been an ugly campaign for Roethlisberger, as he has thrown more than one touchdown pass just once in six games, and reached 300 yards only once as well. But, with the offensive line still a sore spot for the Steelers, Big Ben is still throwing the ball a ton. Roethlisberger has logged 40 or more pass attempts in four of his six games, and that bodes well vs. the Browns, who have just the 23rd-ranked Pass DVOA per Football Outsiders. QB is tough these days to get a big time bargain, but this matchup could see Roethlisberger throw a few touchdown passes with throwback efficiency.
Running Backs
Antonio Gibson, Football Team ($6,200/$5,700): Gibson isn’t 100% this year and it has shown, but he has still maintained relevance by scoring four times in six games, and getting 10 or more carries in every game this season. There aren’t any legitimate threats to his workload aside from game script; when the Football Team falls behind, Gibson does cede snaps to J.D. McKissic. Against the Broncos, however, that’s not something that Washington likely will have to worry about. Denver doesn’t have a bad defense, but they’re sneakily vulnerable on the ground (No. 26 Rush DVOA), and Washington will be looking to ride their workhorse with Taylor Heinicke struggling badly.
Devontae Booker, Giants ($6,200/$5,800): Booker is a smash play, unless Saquon Barkley is good to go. In that case, pivot hard to Barkley at $6,500/$7,000. Either way, you’ll want the Giants’ RB on Monday night against the Chiefs, whose dreadful defense ranks 31st in the NFL in Rush DVOA behind only the Chargers. Booker has seen 12 and 14 carries in the two games Barkley has been absent, and he scored last week vs. the Panthers. He’s likely to score again in this one with so many Giants receivers banged up, and it’s in their best interest to control the clock and keep an angry Patrick Mahomes on the sideline as much as humanly possible.
Chuba Hubbard, Panthers ($6,600/$6,000): Hubbard absolutely stunk last week vs. the Giants, but he’s still the obvious bell cow with Christian McCaffery still on IR, and a juicy matchup vs. the Falcons. Hubbard is locked and loaded for double-digit carries, valuable against the sieve-like Atlanta run D, and he’s also seen five or more targets three times in the last five games. Hubbard will bounce back and have himself a nice day.
Wide Receivers
Tyler Lockett, Seahawks ($6,600/$6,100): Keeping with the WR2 theme, Lockett is someone very few people will be willing to play after back-to-back performances as enjoyable as root canals. Lockett is struggling badly without Russell Wilson, but even Geno Smith should be able to utilize him vs. the Jaguars, who have the league’s second-worst DVOA vs. WR2s, and and allow the sixth-most yards. With Lockett, those chunk plays often end in six, so I’d start him with confidence.
Cole Beasley, Bills ($6,100/$4,900): Beasley went off vs. the Titans, who were soft against slot receivers, and now he gets to feast on Miami, the league’s worst defense against slot receivers. Beasley should also see an uptick in his target share with TE Dawson Knox injured. Buffalo’s offense is a well-oiled machine that dominates excellent defenses, so it’ll be borderline pornographic what they do to Miami. Beasley has a really high floor this week, and I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t flirt with WR2 value on Sunday.
Tight Ends
Hunter Henry, Patriots ($5,500/$4,200): Henry’s impressive streak of nice matchups continues with the Chargers, and this particular tilt has revenge game potential too as Henry returns to face his old squad, the Chargers. Los Angeles ranks just 30th vs. TEs on the year, and combined with Henry scoring a TD in four straight games, the play sticks out.
Tyler Higbee, Rams ($5,300/$4,500): Higbee has been underwhelming, and despite Matthew Stafford’s excellence, it’s hard to maintain so many fantasy-relevant players. Higbee’s yardage has hurt fantasy managers, but he has touchdown potential, and a date with the 29th-ranked defense against TEs. It’s been two weeks since he struck paydirt, so he’s due.
